Valentine's Day Stupid comercialized excuse for a holiday. There was a time when it actually meant something! It's been reduced to an excuse for candy and greeting card companies to up production. Pathetic. A century ago, valentines were hand made for people you truly cared about. They took time to make and were a tolken of true affection. It wasn't 89 cents at the local supermarket or drugstore for a multi-colored piece of cardboard.
Yes, I am single, and no i don't hate the holiday because of that. I am of the opinion that people shouldn't need a so-called 'holiday' to tell the people they care about that they do care! If a guy is going to give me flowers, I want it to be because he wants to, not because society says he should on a certian day. Grrrrrr....::walks off muttering about comercialized holidays::
People Judging Things They Don't Understand It drives me nuts! Really, what business does someone have judging something they know nothing about? I know people who think anime is stupid and immature simply because it's annimated! In truth, a lot of anime is aimed at teenagers and adults. There;s a huge ammount of it that's really not appropriate for children ('Akira', anyone?). There's also music. People will say certain types of music or artists are 'bad' or 'wrong' without listening to them! Artists like Eminem, Marlyin Manson, Korn and Rage Against the Machine have gotten a bad rap from some people because they say things they don't want the public to hear for one reason or another. What happened to the first ammendment? to be continued later. i need to go calm down. ^_~ |
